The song itself clearly seems to be based around a previous relationship and how it ended between Janet and her boyfriend. “maybe in 10 years time, you won’t know my name” seems to be a question for “thinking time” before you fall asleep at night- will a particular person you hold dear still think about you or even remember you in 10 years time? The video seems to represent the process of ‘letting go’ and how you can think about the good times you had with that certain someone. However, at one point you know you need to move on and maybe sometimes, that includes smashing a red glass heart. I would definitely recommend this song to everyone. Janet has shown that X-factor does not taint every aspiring musician and that if you follow the path you set out for yourself, you will eventually do something that you are proud of.
