Katy Perry is known to be good friends with Twilight star Robert Pattinson, and the pair have recently been spending more time together following his split from on-off girlfriend Kristen Stewart. Friends of the star have come forward to share their concerns that pop star Katy is seeking something more out of the friendship with Robert, having harboured a crush on him for some time. "Katy has fancied Rob for years and thinks he could be The One," an insider told Closer magazine. "Maybe that's blinded her, but there's no way he's over Kristen yet. Her friends are telling her to wait before rushing into anything - if he's still interested in a month's time, then it could work. A lot of Rob's friends think he could end up back with Kristen and say he'll fall to pieces if she gets together with someone. They've been on and off so many times that no one thinks it's anything more than temporary this time." 4Music Robert's tumultuous relationship with Kristen hasn't put Katy off. Sources have said she would "jump at the chance" of getting serious with him. The pair have been friends for some time and have been romantically linked over the last few weeks. They recently crashed a wedding rehearsal together in California and it's been claimed Katy is keen for things to progress further. "If Rob decides that he's ready to give things a go with her, she'd jump at the chance. He's the only one she wants," an insider told Heat magazine. Robert and Kristen split after failing to get things back on track following her affair with director Rupert Sanders. The trauma has left its mark on Robert, which is why Katy is taking things slowly. "Katy genuinely adores Rob, but she knows he was hurt by what happened with Kristen. They're trying to keep it quiet but everyone who sees them knows there's something going on. Even before Rob split from Kristen, they never made any secret of how much they enjoyed spending time together," the source added. "Katy's being patient with him, but all of their friends love them together and think this could be the real deal for them." Robert is said to be just as enamoured with Katy, even though he wants to take things slowly. Seeing how much fun they had at the wedding rehearsal last month proved to him that they are a good match. "[It] was just a bit of fun for them, and that's what they adore about each other," an insider explained. "Kristen would never have done anything like that. Rob's happier than ever since the split and Katy's loving spending time with him."
