Biffy Clyro, The Vaccines, Vampire Weekend and Calvin Harris are among the acts confirmed to play BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend. The annual bash takes place in Londonderry, Northern Ireland on the weekend of May 24-26. The line-up was announced earlier today live on air during Nick Grimshaw's Radio 1 Breakfast Show. The Friday night will see a headline performance from Calvin Harris, with support coming from Chase and Status, Dizzee Rascal and Rudimental among others. The focus on the first night is on dance music and artists from the 1Xtra playlist with Rita Ora confirmed to headline the second stage. A$AP Rocky, J. Cole, Wiley, AlunaGeorge and Angel Haze will also play. Biffy Clyro will headline the Saturday alongside The Vaccines, Two Door Cinema Club, Labrinth and Foals. The In New Music We Trust stage will be headlined by DJ Fresh with support coming from Kendrick Lamar, Alt-J, Bring Me The Horizon, The 1975 and Frightened Rabbit. Bruno Mars will close the weekender on Sunday with Paramore, Thirty Second To Mars, Jake Bugg, Vampire Weekend, Disclosure, Everything Everything, Jessie Ware, Miles Kane and Haim also set to play the final day. Tickets were released on April 17 and were all snapped up within an hour of going on sale.NME
